What is Your Days-in-Receivable Number?

Cash flow is the most important short term factor in your practice's survival. Your practice allows payments over time...that means you should have a good understanding of when you can expect payment. Looking at averages can provide insight.

Know Your Number...

Your days-in-receivable number is the calculation of the number of days between billing and payment. To determine your number, use this calculation:

Total Accounts Receivable ÷ Total Monthly Charges = ______
Note: A 90-day rolling average will be more accurate

If this number is greater than 1.5, then your days-in-receivable is over 45.  That number is too high, but MICA can help. Our days-in-receivable average is under 35
